Ich war damals erst 7 Jahren alt. In diesem 1988 Jahr in ganze Demostration mehr als 3000 Leute auf der Strasse erschießen. Wurde aber von Welt gemeinschaft einfach ignoriert.

mir kommen die Tränne wenn ich diese Film nochmals sehe und.. über die Situation in Burma denke.!!!

Wann konnen wir Glücklich wieder mit meiner Familie zusammen leben??

People at that time were wondering if they would live long enough to see democracy and freedom restored in Burma. Many lost their love ones and many fled their beloved country Burma to take refuge in foreign countries. Some lucky ones landed on friendly nations but the majority fled to suufer even worst in their second country.

Ablenkung und etwas Distanz zu den Ereignissen soll für die völlig versteinerte Witwe eine Ostasien-Reise bringen. So hat es sich zumindest Lauras Schwester Andy vorgestellt. Doch Alpträume und wehmütige Erinnerungen verfolgen die verzweifelte Frau bis ins ferne Burma. Als Laura eines Abends in der Hauptstadt Rangun Zeugin einer beeindruckenden Demonstration gegen die herrschende Militärjunta wird, scheint sie zum ersten Mal aus ihrer emotionalen Erstarrung zu erwachen. Tags darauf lernt sie den politischen Dissidenten U Aung Ko kennen. Der ehemalige Universitätsprofessor arbeitet nun als Fremdenführer und will Laura einen etwas anderen, inoffiziellen Blick auf seine Heimat ermöglichen. Mit dieser Begegnung beginnt für die junge Frau ein dramatisches Abenteuer, das ihr ganzes Leben verändern wird …

House Passes Crowley-manzullo Bill To Honor Imprisoned Burmese Human Rights Leader With Congress’ Highest Award

Washington, DC – Congressmen Joseph Crowley (D-NY) and Don Manzullo (R-IL), secured unanimous passage of their legislation (HR 4286) to honor the world’s only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Aung San Suu Kyi. The measure was passed 400-0 by the House of Representatives.

“For three decades, Aung San Suu Kyi has valiantly led the nonviolent movement in Burma for democracy and human rights,” said Crowley, a member of both the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Human Rights Caucus.

“Her work and dedication to the cause of freedom and individual liberty has earned her recognition throughout the world, including the Nobel Peace Prize. Aung San Suu Kyi’s passionate and nonviolent commitment to a free democratic Burma, has won the hearts and minds of the Burmese people. Today, the U.S. House of Representatives showed her and the world that she has also won the hearts and minds of the U.S. Congress.”

Das ist ja, Gute Nachrichten. Aber was für “Prisoners” überhaupt.?
Nach meiner Meinung die Junta Regierung wollte nur einfach gute Image wieder machen.
Aung San Su Kyi ist immer noch unter Hausarrest.
