This webmaster section of the home business resource came into existence as a collection of webmaster tools and resources help myself and a few other webmasters with our daily webmaster chores. We’ve gathered some very userful webmaster information and links here in our webmaster resource section so other webmasters around the world would have access to them for free. The suite of free tools and resources offered continues to grow to this day, and we aim to list something useful for the beginner to the advanced webmaster alike.

mod_rewrite RewriteRule Generator
The mod_rewrite RewriteRule generator will take a dynamic url given to it, and generate the correct syntax to place in a .htaccess file to allow the url to be rewritten in a spiderable format. The apache module mod_rewrite converts urls in a certain format to another format, and can be very useful in helping a site with dynamic content to be indexed. Web Page Analyser
The Web Page Analyser will read the page you specify, and put it through a few basic tests to see if qualifies as ‘search-engine-friendly’ for the phrase you specify. It then gives a report on the good, and the bad points of the page in SEO terms.

Meta Tag Generator
The Meta Tag Generator will read the page you specify, remove common words from it, and pick the most used words on the page. It will then generate a Meta Keywords tag using the words it has found. Extra weight will be given to words in a heading tag (

etc.)

Keyword Research Tool
The Keyword Research Tool will help you research appropriate words and phrases to include in your webpage’s body text to aid in promotion. Simply enter the sort of word of phrase you wish to be found under, and the tool will suggest some additional words and phrases you can think about using.

CSS Menu Generator
The CSS Menu Generator will generate both the CSS and the HTML code required to produce a text-based yet appealing set of navigation buttons. As text links are fast becoming preferred over images where search engine optimization is needed, a CSS menu can give the affectiveness of text links with a better look than standard text links.

Link Appeal

Ping Utility
The Ping Utility sends echo requests to the address you specify and lists the responses received and their round trip time. When the utility is terminated it summarizes the results, giving the average round trip time and the percent packet loss. This utility can be used to determine whether there is a problem with the network connection between two hosts.

Cron Generator Utility
The Cron Generator Utility will help you generate the syntax for creating a cron job.

Cron is a unix/linux function that will allow you to run a command at a specific time automatically. Whether you need it to run daily or weekly, you’ll be able to accomplish this once the task is set up through Cron. Cron in essence is similar to a task scheduler, like the one built into the Windows Operating System.

Simply input the time you wish your program/script to run by inputting appropriate values into the form below. Times should be given in 24 hour format.

Spam Block List Checker
The Block List Checker tool allows you to query a number of spam-block and server boycott lists with an IP address you specify to try and ascertain if the IP address is listed as a known spammer or an open mail relay. This can be useful if you need to check the authenticity of logs or emails.

Frontpage Code Cleaner
The Frontpage Code Cleaner will read the page you specify, and clean a lot of the un-needed code created by Microsoft Frontpage. This helps to shrink the size of the actual page, which has many benefits.
